কোনো existing physical product, broken plastic part বা machine component দেখে নতুন CAD Model তৈরি করাকে সাধারণভাবে reverse engineering workflow-এর অংশ বলা যায়। Accurate result পেতে শুধু বাইরে থেকে shape copy করলেই হয় না; dimension, fit, function, manufacturing tolerance এবং 3D Printing process একসাথে বুঝতে হয়।
১. Product-এর Function বুঝুন
Part কোথায় বসে, কোন দিকে load নেয়, কোন hole screw-এর জন্য এবং কোন surface অন্য component-এর সঙ্গে fit করে—এসব আগে document করুন।
২. Measurement নিন
- Overall length, width, height
- Hole diameter ও center distance
- Wall thickness
- Radius ও chamfer
- Slot, boss, clip ও mounting point
৩. Datum ও Reference নির্বাচন
একটি stable flat surface বা central axis-কে reference ধরে measurement organize করলে accumulated error কমে। সব dimension আলাদা edge থেকে নিলে CAD model distort হতে পারে।
৪. CAD-এ Base Geometry তৈরি
Simple sketch এবং major dimensions দিয়ে শুরু করুন। তারপর extrude/revolve, hole, cut, fillet এবং pattern যোগ করুন। Parametric dimension রাখলে test-এর পর পরিবর্তন সহজ হয়।
৫. Tolerance যোগ করুন
Physical measurement সরাসরি copy করলেই perfect fit নাও হতে পারে। Printer, material, hole orientation এবং mating part অনুযায়ী clearance দরকার। Critical feature-এর জন্য ছোট test coupon print করা সময় বাঁচায়।
৬. Test Print ও Validation
- Critical section print করুন
- Caliper দিয়ে printed dimension measure করুন
- Original assembly-তে fit test করুন
- Interference বা looseness note করুন
- CAD parameter revise করুন
3D Scan কি সবসময় প্রয়োজন?
Complex organic surface-এর জন্য 3D scanning useful হতে পারে, কিন্তু mechanical part-এর hole, flat face ও exact dimension সাধারণত caliper/CAD reconstruction দিয়ে বেশি controllable হয়। অনেক project-এ scan এবং manual CAD একসাথে ব্যবহার করা হয়।

- Minimum wall thickness
- Correct clearances
- Printable orientation
- Assembly access
- Material ও load requirement
Physical product থেকে accurate CAD তৈরি একটি iterative engineering process। Measurement, function এবং test result যত ভালোভাবে document করা হবে, final replacement বা improved product তত reliable হবে।
