Large 3D print split করে তৈরি করলে পরবর্তী গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ধাপ হলো assembly। Decorative prop, enclosure এবং functional component-এর joint requirement এক নয়। তাই glue, screw বা interlocking geometry—কোন method ব্যবহার করবেন তা application অনুযায়ী ঠিক করতে হয়।
১. Adhesive Bonding
PLA, PETG, ABS বা অন্য material-এর জন্য compatible adhesive নির্বাচন করুন। Surface clean, flat এবং properly aligned হওয়া দরকার।
২. Alignment Pin
Pin-hole feature joint shift কমায়। Large prop ও display model-এ এটি খুব useful।
৩. Screw ও Heat-Set Insert
Serviceable enclosure বা functional part-এ removable joint দরকার হলে screw ও heat-set insert practical। Boss wall যথেষ্ট thick রাখতে হবে।
৪. Dovetail বা Mechanical Interlock
Printed geometry নিজেই alignment ও load transfer করতে পারে। কিন্তু tolerance test জরুরি।
৫. Solvent Welding
কিছু thermoplastic compatible solvent দিয়ে chemically bond করা যায়। Material-specific safety guidance ছাড়া এই method ব্যবহার করা উচিত নয়।
Joint Design Tips
- Joint area বাড়ান
- Load path সরাসরি seam-এর ওপর না রাখুন
- Alignment feature দিন
- Fastener access রাখুন
- Assembly sequence আগে plan করুন
Finishing
Decorative model-এ joint seam filler, sanding ও primer দিয়ে hide করা যায়। Functional part-এ finishing-এর চেয়ে joint strength ও repeatability বেশি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
